Megahouse, a Japanese model manufacturer, has officially announced today the latest product from the 'GGG (Gundam Girls Generation)' character figure series, which brings to life the female characters from the 'Mobile Suit Gundam' series with exquisite sculpting. The new item, "Sayla Mass ~Relaxation~" from 'Mobile Suit Gundam', is scheduled for release in January 2024.
This time, the GGG series once again sculpts into a three-dimensional figure Sayla Mass, the beautiful woman with bright golden short hair who is the younger sister of 'The Red Comet' Char Aznable from the original 'Mobile Suit Gundam'. The design is based on the green one-piece swimsuit she briefly appeared in during episode 13 of the anime. Lounging on a beach chair, wearing stylish sunglasses and sunbathing, this 'fan service' scene might seem like a plain swimsuit an 'obasan' (old lady) would wear by modern standards, but 40 years ago, it was the standard image of a beach beauty.
The "Sayla Mass ~Relaxation~" figure is sculpted in 1/8 scale, approximately 19 cm long, bringing to life Sayla lying sideways on a beach chair. The overall sculpting meticulously depicts the beach chair's frame structure, the fabric's depressions, and the granular sand base beneath. Although Sayla herself is wearing a green one-piece swimsuit that was fashionable 40 years ago, the sculptor has employed a more modern and realistic approach to sculpt Sayla's attractive body curves. Particularly in the swimsuit area, delicate wrinkle details, the navel, and abdominal muscle lines convey a lightweight texture, preserving the character's original charm while adding a contemporary sense of sexiness.
