LEGO 21342 Ideas Series "The Insect Collection" Features Rich Biological Detail and Impressive, Nearly 1:1 Scale!

Designed by Spanish LEGO fan José María, and submitted to the LEGO IDEAS platform where it garnered widespread support, "LEGO Insects" was finally unveiled yesterday (15th) as the officially modified and finalized product, "21342 The Insect Collection", by the "Ideas" series under the Danish LEGO toy company! Scheduled for release on September 7, 2023.

This set contains a total of 1111 pieces. It features three of the five insects originally designed by José María as its main focus, and also adds natural environment scenes and black bases where the insects can perch and reside. The insects brought to life in this set include the world's longest beetle, the "Hercules Beetle," the "Chinese Mantis," and the "Blue Morpho Butterfly." Not only does it utilize LEGO bricks to construct astonishingly realistic biological details, but its nearly 1:1 scale specifications are also a huge thrill for insect enthusiasts! The ladybug and bee, which were also part of José María's original design, can be found within the scenes. Overall, this is truly a highly complete set with outstanding details.

▼ The Hercules Beetle's wings can be freely extended (above image) and folded, and the depiction of its head horn and thoracic horn is remarkably lifelike.

▼ The editor personally believes the Chinese Mantis is the most captivating model. From its tender green color and body posture to the printed parts for its compound eyes, everything is excellent, and the choice of parts for its mouth is particularly spot-on, truly "super LEGO."

▼ The Blue Morpho Butterfly's wings, constructed from numerous geometric pieces, are absolutely captivating. The perfectly angled arrangement of these flat pieces is truly therapeutic to behold and also worth learning from!
