TAITO Corporation (株式会社タイトー) of Japan's prize figure series "Desktop Cute" will release a "Nanachi & Mitty" FIGURE based on the popular anime "Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun". It will be sold as a prize item, with an anticipated release in November 2023.
Nanachi and Mitty were both orphans who followed the Lord of Dawn, "Bondrewd," into the Abyss. They became friends during their journey, but were then used by Bondrewd as experimental subjects for the curse's burden. While Nanachi's appearance changed due to the curse, she barely retained her humanity. Mitty, however, completely transformed into a flesh-like "Narehate" (Hollow). Her immortal body was tormented as experimental material by Bondrewd... To save Mitty's dignity and soul, Nanachi continuously sought a way to completely kill Mitty without causing her pain.
The "TAITO Nanachi & Mitty" prize figure, standing approximately 13 cm tall, brings to life in three dimensions the warm scene of Nanachi and Mitty embracing. It meticulously recreates Nanachi's adorable appearance, covered in thick fur, with her long ears and tail faithfully reproduced. Her expression is incredibly warm and charming, and Mitty also shows a happy smile—a sight that can't help but bring a faint ache to one's stomach.
