BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., today announced the upcoming release of the latest sixth installment, "MOBILITY JOINT GUNDAM VOL.6," from its new Mobile Suit Gundam-themed Shokugan series 'MOBILITY JOINT GUNDAM,' scheduled for January 2024.
'MOBILITY JOINT GUNDAM' continues the design concept of another Gundam Shokugan series, 'G-FRAME,' transforming popular Mobile Suits from the 'Mobile Suit Gundam' series into approximately 3-head-tall proportions. It adopts a common 'MOBILITY JOINT' movable frame structure, featuring around 20 points of articulation throughout the body. The exterior armor also boasts a high density of detail, differing from the original settings. Once all parts and stickers are assembled, you'll have a Mobile Suit approximately 70mm tall!
This sixth installment's lineup will include the gray-and-white Unit 3 from the 'Mobile Suit Gundam' RX-78 series, the "G-3 Gundam," the GAT-X105 series Mobile Suits "Strike Gundam" and "Aile Strike Gundam" from 'Mobile Suit Gundam SEED,' and the final Mobile Suit piloted by protagonist Suletta Mercury in the latest series, 'Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch from Mercury,' the "Gundam Calibarn." Each Mobile Suit also comes with its dedicated EX expansion parts set, allowing for even richer weapon variations.
The Strike Gundam is crafted in SD proportions with a cool, angular armor design, featuring metallic coloring to highlight exposed internal frame sections. Weapons included with the main unit are a beam rifle and shield. The dedicated EX expansion parts set includes the "Aile Striker Pack" and "Sword Striker Pack" for interchangeable use. It can also be combined with the "Launcher Striker Pack" from the Aile Strike Gundam's EX expansion parts, allowing for the recreation of the three-in-one Perfect Strike Gundam!
The Aile Strike Gundam reuses Strike Gundam parts with a modified color scheme. The main unit also includes a beam rifle and shield. Its dedicated EX expansion parts set features the "I.W.S.P. Equipment" and "Launcher Striker Pack." All four backpack units can be freely combined with both the Strike Gundam and Aile Strike Gundam.
The Gundam Calibarn precisely recreates the armor details designed with geometric lines. It utilizes a unique frame, different from other products, to reproduce its characteristic slender waist. The GUND-System glowing areas on the head, chest, and legs are painted black without iridescence. The main unit has no weapons apart from the beam saber hilt on its backpack. The broom-like "Variable Rod Rifle" and the "Shield" that can separate into GUND-Bits are all included in the EX parts set. The GUND-Bits can be combined with the main unit to recreate the "Bit on Form" configuration.
The G-3 Gundam is a modification of the RX-78-2 Gundam released in the first installment. In addition to being adjusted to a gray and blue color scheme, parts such as the shield, waist, and feet use new molds to reproduce design differences. The main unit's weapons include a beam rifle and shield. The EX expansion parts set further adds two bazookas, a beam javelin, a beam saber, another beam rifle, and open hands, allowing for the recreation of the famous twin-bazooka G-3, and also enabling combination with the RX-78-2 Gundam to reproduce its final battle specifications.
