[Unboxing] GSC - Teto Kasane: Yoshiwara Lament Ver.

Hello everyone, today I'm here to unbox and share with you GSC's Teto Kasane: Yoshiwara Lament Ver.

This product was released in 2019, and in the toy world, it's already considered a vintage item.
However, its overall quality, even by current standards, remains an excellent piece.

Teto Kasane was initially created by netizens as an April Fool's joke, intended to make people believe a new character had joined the Vocaloid family.
Later, through collective effort, Teto Kasane was given a UTAU voicebank (not VOCALOID), subsequently becoming a representative figure of UTAU.

Even those outside the virtual singer community have likely heard Teto Kasane's famous legendary song, "Yoshiwara Lament."
The lyricist and composer, Asa, is also a member of Wagakki Band (the one who looks like a beautiful girl bassist but is actually male... LOL), and they have also performed this song.
Sachiko Kobayashi and Asa also collaborated on this song in 2017 (for the 5th anniversary of Yoshiwara Lament).
All these factors have allowed more people to discover this song.

The figure itself wonderfully recreates the illustration drawn by artist Fuji Choko.
The overall opulence is quite sufficient, and I personally believe it remains one of the most outstanding Oiran-style figures to this day.

Here are the photos below.

Large window on the front.
All four sides of the box are adorned with numerous illustrations featuring strong Japanese aesthetics.

The contents are quite simple:
The main figure, a pipe, and the base.

Figure from all angles

Detailing
The face isn't angle-limited, but I personally feel the mouth could have been rendered better.

The headpiece details are also fine.

The quality of the small pipe is also excellent, with even a gradient paint application on the grip.

The intricate patterns on the kimono speak for themselves.
While opulent, the quality has not been overlooked.

Alright, I know the details everyone is most eager to see are here.
The collar is widely open at both the shoulders and back, revealing just the right amount.

The lowest hem of the kimono features multiple layers of transparent gradients in different colors, significantly enhancing the overall visual richness.

Even the feet, hidden within the kimono's hem and normally unseen, have been meticulously crafted.

Although the base has no pattern, its glossy design paired with a red painted rim evokes the feel of a Japanese vessel.
However, the drawback is that it's prone to fingerprints and scratches.

That concludes the introduction to the contents.
Overall, it's a collectible worth displaying in your cabinet, offering excellent quality and aesthetic appeal.
However, since it's a product from several years ago, those interested in acquiring it now will likely need to look for second-hand options.
