GOOD SMILE COMPANY of Japan has announced the latest product in its Q-version articulated figure series, 'Nendoroid,' featuring 'Hachiware' from the super popular manga 'Chiikawa: Something Small and Cute,' scheduled for release in October 2023.
Created by Japanese manga artist Nagano, 'Chiikawa' uses a charming picture book style to depict the stories of the two-headed small animals known as 'Chiikawa-zoku' (Chiikawa Tribe). They earn their living through tasks like weeding and subjugation, leading lives that are sometimes joyful, sometimes arduous, and sometimes melancholic. While presenting this fantastical world in a very cute style, the work also contains many realistic and dark elements, bringing a unique charm to the series.
The newly released 'Hachiware' is one of the three main characters, often playing and working with Chiikawa and Usagi. The Nendoroid series faithfully recreates the original two-headed art style, bringing Chiikawa to life in three dimensions. Its magnetic limb parts allow for free posing in various actions. The facial features not only perfectly reproduce Nagano's brushwork but also feature a segmented design for interchangeable expressions, including 'Smiling Face,' 'Joyful Smiling Face,' and 'What!? Face.' These can be combined with accessories like the 'Subjugation Rod' and 'Camera' to recreate his fierce appearance during subjugation tasks or his satisfied expression while taking photos after acquiring a camera!
