Established in 2021, the new Japanese soft vinyl toy brand NEO PLAYER ONE (株式会社ネオプレイヤーワン), after releasing the "Caiman Standard Color Version" based on Dorohedoro, has recently unveiled two new color variations of the "Caiman" soft vinyl toy: "FIRST RED ver." and "Usamimi ver.". The Usamimi Caiman is absolutely fantastic!
The manga series Dorohedoro, created by Japanese manga artist Q Hayashida, is set in two coexisting worlds: "The Hole," inhabited by ordinary people, and the world where sorcerers—beings created by the devil Chidaruma—reside. Sorcerers, aspiring to become devils themselves, often use humans as subjects for practicing their magic. The protagonist, Caiman, is one such victim of magic, whose head was transformed into that of a lizard and who lost his memories. To regain his human face and forgotten memories, he embarks on a sorcerer hunt with his companion Nikaido.
This Caiman figure maintains the same chibi proportion as its predecessor, faithfully recreating character features such as the scabbard, the bone-like abdominal decoration, the right leg guard, and the bayonet in his hand. However, this time Caiman appears wearing a mask. The rabbit ear disguise, which appeared in episode 5 of the anime for infiltrating the "Sorcerer's World," is truly adorable! It faithfully reproduces the white and green color scheme from the show, as well as the red lenses of the mask's eyes. The FIRST RED ver., on the other hand, features a predominantly red color scheme with black accents on the clothing. The rabbit ear design is still too captivating! I want it. Both figures are scheduled to be released at DOROCON, so toy enthusiasts should stay tuned.
