The Korean designer toy brand "Sticky Monster Lab," whose works enjoy immense popularity worldwide, after collaborating with the renowned Korean collectible brand Blitzway in 2021 to create the "SML WARS SS 001 Spaceship," today (6th) once again unveiled the surprising and delightful sequel, "SML WARS 002 Escape Pod"! Pre-orders are now open on the Blitzway official website, with shipping expected to begin in Q4 2023.
The core concept of SML WARS 002 revolves around a Sticky Monster space soldier detaching from the mothership and boarding an escape pod to an unknown planet. This work fully embodies the strengths of both SML and Blitzway, blending the charm of minimalist lines with the complex mechanisms of precise devices, and encasing all elements within a highly futuristic curved structure, achieving a simple yet profoundly detailed design.
While it's a slight pity that the monster soldier itself appears to be the same design as the previous work, the escape pod is truly impressive. Its sleek capsule exterior can be expanded in multiple areas, recreating precise deceleration mechanisms. The intricate internal detailing is another major highlight. Slide open the hatch, lower the safety bar, and activate the LED lighting function, and an adventurous atmosphere instantly fills the surroundings. Furthermore, in line with the setting of needing to land on an unknown planet, the escape pod can store essential items such as emergency rations, medical kits, and more. It even includes a cute ground-based drone. Overall, this is truly a collectible piece worthy of SML fans and space enthusiasts.
