PLEX Co., Ltd. of Japan, in collaboration with X-PLUS Co., Ltd., has announced a new addition to their "Toho Large Monsters" series of soft vinyl monster figures, based on the monsters from Toho films. This latest release, an exclusive for X-PLUS's official online store "Shonen RIC," is the new "Hedorah (Landing Stage) Quadruped Crawling Version" (ヘドラ(上陸期)四つん這いVer.), originating from "Godzilla vs. Hedorah"! It is scheduled for release in November 2023.
Originally a cosmic mineral lifeform, "Hedorah (ヘドラ)" arrived on Earth and, by absorbing sludge and exhaust fumes polluted by industrial waste, grew into the famous pollution monster! Hedorah has four forms: Aquatic Stage, Landing Stage, Flying Stage, and Growth Stage. This release is designed based on Hedorah's Landing Stage, standing approximately 15 cm tall and measuring 38 cm long. It faithfully recreates Hedorah's quadrupedal crawling appearance at this stage, along with the unique soft, slimy texture of its sludge body and intricate sculptural details. The murky colors resulting from heavy pollution and the seemingly bloodshot, reddish large eyes are also excellently rendered. Displaying it alongside other Hedorah toys allows for a grand collection of Hedorah's various stages.
