To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the release of "Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie [New Feature] Rebellion", Japan's ANIPLEX company will re-release the highly sought-after "Devil Homura Akemi" 1/8 scale figure. Pre-orders are now open on ANIPLEX+, with a reference price of 29,700 JPY, and an estimated release in August 2024.
Homura Akemi is a classmate of the protagonist, Madoka Kaname, and gives off an impression of being calm and aloof. Besides her expressionless face, she often speaks in ways that are difficult to understand. In the latter half of the story, her true identity is revealed—in the initial timeline, Homura was a timid and insecure girl who became cheerful with Madoka's encouragement and help, coming to regard Madoka as her best friend. Through countless attempts to save Madoka, and to prevent her from becoming a magical girl and changing her fate of death, Homura gradually developed a cold personality...
The "ANIPLEX+ Devil Homura Akemi" 1/8 scale figure is a re-release of a popular product originally launched in 2018, offering collectors who missed out previously another chance to acquire it from the official store (though the price has been officially adjusted upwards). Based on the illustration by character designer Ume Aoki-sensei, this figure recreates the mysterious yet gentle smile of Devil Homura in three dimensions! The impressive 40 cm size and high-quality, intricate details are noteworthy. To replicate the translucent quality seen in the illustration, transparent parts are used for the wing feathers, the hem of her black evening gown, and her dynamically sculpted purple-black hair, creating a light and ethereal dreamlike feel.
