The latest product, "Gelgoog Cannon (Thomas Kurtz Custom)," from the 'ROBOT Damashii ver. A.N.I.M.E.' series of robot-themed articulated figures, released by Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, has been announced for release in April 2024, originating from 'Mobile Suit Gundam MSV'.
The MS-14C Gelgoog Cannon is a mobile suit modified from the MS-14 Gelgoog by the Principality of Zeon military during the One Year War. It was divided into two specifications: Type A, which was a modification of the standard model, and Type C, which was produced directly from the factory. This unit is equipped with a beam cannon backpack, a head visor, a right arm triple missile launcher, and other armaments. While its basic performance remains the same, its mobility is slightly reduced due to increased weight, allowing it to be used as a mid-range support unit. The product being commercialized here is the unit piloted by Lieutenant Thomas Kurtz, ace of the Zeon Assault Mobile Force's "Chimera" unit, with unit number 058.
The "ROBOT Damashii Gelgoog Cannon (Thomas Kurtz Custom) ver. A.N.I.M.E." utilizes a new color scheme and body markings to faithfully recreate the unit's distinctive olive green paintwork, the number "58," and the spade emblem. The chest and waist incorporate multi-axis articulation for flexible forward and backward bending. The shoulders feature pull-out joints to expand the arm's range of motion, and the front skirt armor has a segmented design that can be tucked into the hips to enhance thigh articulation. Accessories include a beam rifle, beam naginata, triple missile launcher, bazooka, shield, small shield, and various interchangeable hand parts, allowing for dynamic and cool battle poses.
