BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced today the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN," the "Black Tri-Stars High Mobility Zaku II," from its "MOBILITY JOINT GUNDAM" series of SD scale "Mobile Suit Gundam" themed Shokugan featuring a movable frame. It is scheduled for release in February 2024.
The three Zeon ace pilots known as the "Black Tri-Stars": Gaia, Mash, and Ortega, although they piloted Doms and used the flashy "Jet Stream Attack" in the main "Mobile Suit Gundam" series, they still couldn't overcome Gundam's protagonist power and died on the battlefield. However, the "triune" Black Tri-Stars were not so useless. Even before the outbreak of the One Year War, their abilities were highly regarded in the military. Later, they indeed achieved great success in the Battle of Loum, capturing Earth Federation Forces Commander-in-Chief "General Revil" and becoming famous overnight. The three were subsequently granted the higher-performance mobile suit, the "High Mobility Zaku II (R-1A Type)," and continued to use this excellent mobile suit until their descent to Earth.
The "MOBILITY JOINT GUNDAM Black Tri-Stars High Mobility Zaku II" includes the High Mobility Zaku II units used by Gaia, Mash, and Ortega. Its exterior design is crafted in a low-head SD style and features a flexible movable frame design. The distinct shoulder armor designs of each unit, as well as the full-body markings and other details, are meticulously reproduced. It also comes with a variety of unique weapon accessories and display bases for each unit, including Gaia's A2-type Bazooka, Mash's large Heat Hawk, and Ortega's Anti-Ship Sniper Rifle. This allows for recreating each unit's characteristic battle poses!
