Japan's Kadokawa Group, which has been actively expanding into the model industry in recent years, recently officially announced its brand new plastic model series, 'KADOKAWA PLASTIC MODEL SERIES (KADOPLA for short)'. The first product in the series will feature the popular character "Megumin" from the anime version of "KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!", with a release date yet to be determined.
The 'KADOKAWA PLASTIC MODEL SERIES' aims to capture the charm of various characters from Kadokawa's published works through plastic model specifications. The model designs feature precise color separation and part division, combined with pre-painted parts, while also maintaining articulation in various joints. Even with a straight build, the models can largely reproduce the characters' appearances from their respective works, allowing fans to recreate famous scenes and signature poses from the stories.
The first product, "Megumin," currently has its part division design and physical prototype revealed. It can be seen that all parts feature at least dark brown, yellow, red, skin tone, white, and silver molding colors. Once assembled, the model can largely recreate the adorable Arch-Wizard outfit from the series. Furthermore, by swapping parts, a swimsuit appearance can also be reproduced. Accessories include a detachable chuunibyou eye patch, a staff, and multiple interchangeable hand parts. The entire body also combines a slender physique with articulated design, allowing for highly dynamic poses.
In addition, product planning is also underway for ten other female characters, including the "tea bag goddess" Aqua from the same series, Ai Hoshino from "Oshi no Ko", Mikoto Misaka from "A Certain Scientific Railgun", Roxy Migurdia from "Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation", and Rem from "Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World", among others.
