KOTOBUKIYA, the Japanese model manufacturer, has once again announced the latest collaborative product, "Strafe Repaint Color Version," from their popular plastic model series 'Megami Device,' which combines colorful mechanical equipment with highly articulated bishoujo bodies, in collaboration with the classic mecha girl toy series 《武裝神姫》. It is scheduled for release in March 2024.
This product is a modification of the previously released item "Devil Type Strafe," utilizing the highly articulated Machineca body designed by sculptor Masaki Apsy in recent years to recreate the classic character Devil Type Strafe from the 2006 release of 《武裝神姫》. It also retains many design elements that pay homage to the original MMS body. Under the reconstruction of the plastic model specifications, details such as part separation, joint surfaces, and articulation have all evolved further. This time, some new sculpts and new molding colors have been replaced to reproduce the repaint version color scheme developed from the 2007 "Dengeki HM Original Color" design.
Since it uses the same Machineca body, it can share most parts with existing Megami Device series products for customization. However, pull-out hip joints and single-axis elbow joints, among others, retain their original dedicated specifications as a homage to the MMS body. Accessories include various interchangeable hand parts, and it is equipped with exoskeleton armor, various daggers, a grenade launcher, a pistol, and other armaments, allowing it to switch at any time from an unarmed "Body Mode" to a fully armed "Armed Mode."
Differences from the regular version include not only the molding colors but also new hair ornament parts, waist color-separated parts, and three newly painted face parts. Furthermore, the product will also include an additional set of φ3.3mm specification BONUS parts, including neck joints, wrist parts, and full-body connection parts, among other rich accessories. These can correspond to the part specifications of the 《武裝神姫》 series figures sold back then, allowing for self-modification and expansion. Not only that, but it can also reproduce the "CSC" jewel core from the game version's settings, and by replacing parts, two internal structures after removing the chest armor can be recreated.
