Japan's Furyu Corporation (フリュー株式会社), through its high-quality figure brand "F:NEX," has collaborated with the renowned Japanese doll long-established store "Yoshitoku" to create the latest addition to their "Japanese Doll" collection series: the "Super Sonico" (すーぱーそに子) 1/4 scale pre-painted figure! This product is a FURYU HOBBY MALL exclusive and will be sold on a made-to-order basis, with shipments expected to begin in January 2025.
"Yoshitoku Daiko," located in Asakusa, Tokyo, is a 300-year-old Japanese doll store specializing in Hina dolls for the Doll's Festival, Musha dolls (Gogatsu Ningyo) for Children's Day, and various other dolls that showcase traditional Japanese culture. Their corporate motto is "The life of a doll is in its face (人形は顔がいのち)." They not only produce high-quality kimonos and armor but also pour their soul into the doll's face, paying extreme attention to detail.
"Super Sonico -Japanese Doll-" is the 12th installment in this series, standing approximately 42 cm tall. Not only does Super Sonico wear magnificent traditional Japanese attire adorned with numerous hair ornaments, but in line with her identity as a musician and her voluptuous character image, she is sculpted holding a shamisen and a bachi. The kimono also features a loose silhouette, boldly showcasing Super Sonico's feminine charm! The head sculpt further reveals Yoshitoku's dedication to meticulous craftsmanship; her sparkling eyes are radiant, the eyelashes and red lips are exquisitely detailed, and her pink hair exhibits a translucent quality, making her absolutely beautiful! The combination of metallic headphones and traditional Japanese hair ornaments creates a fresh and innovative feel.
It is worth noting that the red-toned kimono is intricately woven with abundant floral patterns and gold threads, fully demonstrating the dazzling luxury of Kinran and the dyeing charm of Kyoto-style Yuzen. Displayed alongside a nameplate bearing the product title, F:NEX, and Yoshitoku Daiko's signature seal, it is truly magnificent.
