"TAMASHII NATIONS," the collectible toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, is releasing the latest product in its popular S.H.Figuarts action figure series, based on the popular anime series "Kaiju No. 8"—the "S.H.Figuarts Reno Ichikawa"! The suggested retail price is 8,250 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in May 2024.
The manga series "Kaiju No. 8," created by manga artist Naoya Matsumoto, began serialization in July 2020 on Shueisha's online manga platform Shonen Jump+. It achieved an astonishing total of over 30 million views within three months and 100 million views within a year, setting a platform record. Reno Ichikawa (市川 レノ), who appears in the series, is Hibino's junior colleague from their part-time job cleaning Kaiju corpses. The two passed the Defense Force examination together and are now members of the Defense Force's 3rd Division.
The "S.H.Figuarts Reno Ichikawa" action figure stands approximately 14.5 cm tall. Based on the character's proportions from the anime, it faithfully recreates Reno's appearance in his Defense Force uniform! The cool armor, the logo on the uniform, and details like the waist pouch are meticulously rendered. It comes with interchangeable facial expressions including "looking left," "shouting," "gritting teeth," and "wearing a mask." Combined with interchangeable "flowing bangs" parts, a rifle, and various hand gestures, you can enjoy dynamic poses for subduing monsters!
▼The bonus accessory is an interchangeable "fearless smile" expression for Kaiju No. 8 (sold separately)!
