The Ultraman movable figure candy toy "Shodo α" series, released by BANDAI CANDY, the candy toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., recently announced that its latest product, "Shodo α Ultraman Vol. 9," is scheduled for release in June 2024.
"Shodo α" is an evolved version launched in 2022, based on the previous Shodo series. It is a movable figure candy toy series themed around "Ultraman," standing approximately 10 cm tall, featuring sculpts and colors that faithfully reproduce the original designs. Compared to the old version, a new independent movable part has been added to the hip joint, further enhancing the leg sculpt and range of motion. Each Ultraman figure will come with dedicated beam effect parts, and can be played with various weapons from the expansion parts set.
"Shodo α Ultraman Vol. 9" includes five warriors: Ultraman Ribut, Shining Ultraman Zero, Ultraman (Original), Ultraman Jack, and Ultraman Astra, along with one expansion parts set. Among these, Ribut and Shining Zero feature completely new sculpts, while Ultraman (Original), Jack, and Astra feature new sculpts for their heads and other parts. Each Ultraman figure can be posed in battle stances thanks to their flexible movable joints, and their special moves can be recreated with dedicated beam effects. However, Ultraman (Original)'s accessory has been changed to a Science Patrol aircraft, with his beam effect included in the expansion parts set.
The expansion parts set also includes various dedicated equipment, such as Ribut's staff and shield, the Baraji Shield granted to Zero by Ultraman Noa, Ultraman Jack's Ultra Lance, and the Ultra Key stolen by Alien Babal when disguised as Astra, allowing for the recreation of even richer battle scenes and classic moments!
