Megahouse, a Japanese toy company, under its high-end collectible figure series "Ultimate Article," which focuses on realistic sculpting and special features, has once again launched a product based on the 70s tokusatsu hero series "Android Kikaider" — the "Android Kikaider 01 (Kikaider 01) RENEWAL EDITION" pre-painted complete figure. The suggested retail price is 36,300 JPY, with an anticipated release in August 2024!
The tokusatsu series "Android Kikaider" (人造人間 キカイダー) is adapted from the manga of the same name created by Shotaro Ishinomori, the master behind Kamen Rider. It tells the story of Jiro, an android boy created by Dr. Komyoji, who can transform into the cybernetic hero "Kikaider" to battle enemies. However, due to his incomplete "Conscience Circuit," he often struggles between good and evil. "Android Kikaider 01" is the second installment in the TV drama series, with an ending that differs slightly from the original manga after adaptation.
Megahouse previously released an "Android Kikaider 01" figure. This RENEWAL EDITION is produced with new specifications, faithfully recreating Kikaider's more symmetrical appearance as seen in the sequel. It meticulously sculpts the texture and wrinkles of the leather suit, with the iconic red and blue color scheme remaining striking. Interchangeable arm parts allow for dynamic poses, switching between transformation and combat stances!
This figure retains the LED light-up function for the head and eyes, now extending to the chest, allowing Kikaider's internal mechanical structure to be seen through the transparent plastic material! Furthermore, this edition includes a sound feature: when the switch is set to "ON 1," Kikaider's eyes will light up and play the transformation sound effect; when set to "ON 2," both the chest and head will illuminate, and the battle BGM will play, perfectly recreating his cool appearance from the show!
