Japan's Bushiroad Creative company's gashapon brand TAMA-KYU (たまきゅう) will release a rather interesting anthropomorphic food gashapon toy "Onigiri Rikishi" (おにぎ力士) this May! The suggested retail price is 400 JPY per capsule, with a total of 5 types to collect.
Upon seeing TAMA-KYU's Onigiri Rikishi this time, the editor's ears seemed to hear a deep, resonant voice saying, "Hmph~! You punk, if you want to eat me, you must have the corresponding resolve...!". This work not only boasts a substantial 6 cm height for a gashapon toy, but also features plump triangular bodies, distinct rice grains, and incredibly arrogant expressions – truly befitting powerful sumo wrestlers! This time, the Onigiri Rikishi also meticulously incorporates the ranking system of Japanese sumo wrestlers, such as the highest rank, Yokozuna, followed by Ozeki, Sekiwake, and Komusubi. The 'Tsuna,' the thick rope belt adorned with shide (paper streamers) worn by a Yokozuna, is also well-depicted.
In addition to their interesting designs and settings, these Onigiri Rikishi also feature interchangeable topknots that transform into various foods, making you want to buy several to play with and stage a hearty pre-meal workout on the dining table!
● Yokozuna Amamusubi
● Ozeki Ōketsuhi
● Sekiwake Anko Genketsuhi
● Yokozuna Sake-Ikura Genketsubi
● Komusubi Umemusubi
