The "Realistic Model Series G Structure Model" series, a Gundam diorama model line by Japanese model manufacturer MEGAHOUSE, recently announced the upcoming release of its latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED," the "Archangel Bridge (Molded Color Version)," slated for late October 2024.
The LCAM-01XA Archangel-class Assault Mobile Special Ship, Archangel Unit 1, is a space battleship jointly developed by the Atlantic Federation Forces and Orb's state-owned military-industrial enterprise, Morgenroete. As part of the "G Weapon Development Project," this vessel was designed as a mothership for the "GAT-X Series Gundams." In addition to its excellent navigation capabilities and living functions, powered by a laser nuclear fusion reactor and an 80% conversion rate solar power generation system, its combat performance is also formidable. It not only utilizes laminated armor that significantly reduces beam damage but also carries the immensely powerful experimental weapon, the "Lohengrin Positron Cannon." Due to its superior performance, the ship remained in active service even during the theatrical film "FREEDOM."
The "RMS G Structure Model Archangel Bridge (Molded Color Version)" is a modified version based on the previously released standard edition. Compared to the original weathered paint finish, this version's parts retain the original color of the plastic molded components. It also includes water-slide decals printed with various hull markings. However, it is priced over 3,000 JPY cheaper, making it ideal for modelers who wish to custom paint the colors themselves or modify parts.
Other features remain the same. The bridge main body, with a total height of approximately 225mm, is suitable for display alongside 1/144 scale Gunpla. It boasts intricate armor details and antenna designs. By combining it with the included clear stand and a separately sold 1/144 scale Freedom Gundam model, you can recreate the famous scene from the series where Kira Yamato descends from the sky in his new mobile suit to protect the Archangel as it is about to be attacked by enemy mobile suits!
