Japanese model maker Kotobukiya, under its "ARTFX J" line which creates exquisite three-dimensional works of Japanese anime and game characters, has officially announced the first product from the classic anime "Yu Yu Hakusho": the "ARTFX J Yu Yu Hakusho Yusuke Urameshi Ver.2" 1/8 scale figure! The suggested retail price is 24,200 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in December 2024.
The classic Japanese manga series "Yu Yu Hakusho" was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 1990 to 1994, and it remains highly popular even in the Reiwa era, 30 years later. The protagonist, Yusuke Urameshi, initially dies in a car accident, but because it was an "unforeseen death by the Spirit World," he is given a chance to revive. He then operates as a "Spirit Detective," and during his missions, he meets the demon fox Kurama and Hiei, who came to the human world from the Demon World, and becomes comrades with his human best friend Kazuma Kuwabara from Sarayashiki Junior High.
The "ARTFX J Yu Yu Hakusho Yusuke Urameshi Ver.2" 1/8 scale figure measures approximately 18.5 cm in height. Based on his yellow vest gi from the "Dark Tournament Saga," this version features significant upgrades in pose and details compared to the previous version of Yusuke, thoroughly realizing a battle scene from the series. His slicked-back hair is painted with a green sheen, and his face bears a fearless expression. The "Spirit Gun" effect is recreated with clear effect parts! Clear effect parts and smoke are also included at his feet to enhance the intense battle atmosphere!
