Japan's BellFine company, under its soft vinyl series "Soft B," is scheduled to release a comic color version soft vinyl figure of the popular supporting character "Pinoko" (ピノコ) from the classic and popular work "Black Jack" (ブラック・ジャック) in November 2024. The price will be 11,660 Japanese Yen.
The classic work "Black Jack" (formerly translated as "Dr. Black Jack" in Taiwan) is a work created by Japanese manga artist Osamu Tezuka in 1973, carrying a strong satirical tone towards societal norms. The protagonist, Dr. Black Jack, whose real name is Kuroo Hazama, possesses superb medical skills but lacks a license. He is forced to operate in the shadows, often charging exorbitant surgical fees from patients, but this is often due to underlying dark circumstances. When he encounters the poor or those in need, he will not hesitate to lend a helping hand. He also speaks out for disadvantaged groups and fights against unscrupulous corporations that cause pollution. In addition to the manga, there are also anime, OVA, and live-action Japanese drama adaptations, and the work's popularity has endured to this day.
The adorable Pinoko is Dr. Black Jack's best partner. This SoftB Pinoko figure, with a height of approximately 28 cm, faithfully recreates her cute appearance from the original work. The color of her clothes, unlike the anime version, adopts the comic version's white top paired with a pink skirt, offering a different kind of charm.
