Renowned poster design and toy company MONDO has announced a new product based on the classic animated series "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" – a "Spider-Man" 1/6 scale articulated figure. It will be released in both a Regular Edition and a Limited Edition of 1,500 units, with suggested retail prices of $210 and $195 respectively. Pre-orders will open on the MONDO official website starting September 24th at noon CT, with an estimated shipping date of December 2024!
Premiering in November 1994, "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" was a serialized television animated series based on Marvel Comics' popular character Spider-Man. It ran for 5 seasons until 1998, with its series finale famously introducing the "Spider-verse" storyline, which later inspired similar narratives in various Spider-Man comics, cartoons, and films in the early 21st century.
For MONDO's new "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" themed character line, the first release is, of course, Spider-Man himself! The figure's design was collaboratively supervised by the MONDO art team, faithfully recreating the animated series' cartoonish and muscular physique. The rounded head sculpt clearly shows the contours of his face, and it features the iconic flat coloring style to capture the cel-animated, two-dimensional aesthetic of the show! The 1/6 scale provides a substantial presence, and with highly articulated joints throughout the body, it can be posed in a variety of dynamic and cool stances!
Accessories include a Peter Parker head sculpt, a Spider-Man mask, Peter Parker's camera, multiple interchangeable hand parts, and sculpted web effects. The Limited Edition additionally includes a hand holding the Green Goblin mask, a classic-style head sculpt, and a symbiote effect piece that can be attached to the chest, offering a wide range of display options!
