Japan's TAKARA TOMY toy company's best-selling toy series "Pop-Up Pirate" will collaborate with the highly popular work "Chiikawa" to launch its latest product: "Pop-Up Pirate Mini Chiikawa Set", with a suggested retail price of 1,980 JPY, scheduled for release in March 2025!
First released in 1975, "Pop-Up Pirate", commonly known as the Pirate Barrel, originally had a game setting where players had to rescue companions from evil pirates: take turns inserting swords into the barrel, cutting ropes, and making the Blackbeard pop out to rescue companions and win! Later, due to the influence of variety shows, the rules gradually changed to "the person who makes Blackbeard pop out loses". Regardless of the rules, it's a simple and exciting party game!
This collaborative product, the "Chiikawa Pop-Up Pirate Mini Set", replaces the familiar Blackbeard with the three little characters from the series: Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi, who can be placed in a palm-sized barrel~ The sword's design has also been changed to yellow and blue stick shapes, and it comes with cute stickers featuring extermination sticks, character heads, and dialogue!
