Coser Couple Wields Excalibur to Slice Apple Gift Card Cake, Plays FGO Gacha BGM at Wedding!

Weddings are undeniably monumental life events, and these days, many couples are ditching tradition for something more personal. We're seeing a surge in anime-themed celebrations, with wedding planners even crafting bespoke events to match a couple's unique vision.

Finding a partner who shares your passions? That's definitely a cheat code for a happy marriage! Recently, a Japanese cosplayer couple who are huge fans of TYPE-MOON's "Fate" series shared photos from their wedding on X. What caught everyone's eye? They used King Arthur's legendary sword, "Excalibur" (Sword of Promised Victory), to cut their cake! And get this – the cake itself was a stroke of genius. Netizens are showering praise on their creativity, celebrating how awesome it is for two people with such shared interests to tie the knot.

The cosplayer couple, Ryuka and her husband Zundaman, both love cosplay. In fact, they met at a "Fate/Grand Order" (FGO) cosplay event! Ryuka was cosplaying as Ibaraki Doji, while her husband was Watanabe no Tsuna. Since their characters had a connection, it sparked plenty of conversation between them.

Ryuka laughingly shared that she was already a huge fan of Watanabe no Tsuna, and her husband's cosplay was so spot-on that she instantly became his "fan." He, in turn, was drawn to her personality, and step by step, their relationship blossomed into marriage.

She recently posted, noting that the topic "What happens when you date a cosplayer?" seems to be trending.

Well... it probably means your wedding cake turns into a gacha card, your cake knife becomes Excalibur, and the first ritual you complete together is settling your past gacha debts!

Ryuka also explained that the venue initially offered a standard rectangular cake. Opting for multiple tiers or extra decorations would have bumped up the price.

Then, it hit them: "This shape... it's totally an Apple Gift Card!" A lightbulb moment! They decided to go with that design, even specifically requesting the "10,000" digit in the top right corner. When they pitched the idea to the wedding coordinator, the person chuckled and said, "This is a design we've never encountered before!"

So, why "Excalibur" for the cake cutting? Their reasoning was simple: "This is the reckoning for our past gacha history!" They decided to use it for the ceremony, letting their guests witness this epic settlement!

The moment the sword touched the cake, the entire room erupted in cheers, shouting King Arthur's Noble Phantasm lines: "Thirteen Seals Released, Round Table Decision Initiated!" "This is a reckoning for past gacha!" "Excalibur!" The atmosphere was absolutely electric, turning it into the most ceremonial cake cutting ever!

▼ This particular "Excalibur" was chosen to be the one wielded by Saber from "Fate/Prototype."

But wait, there's more! In the reception area, they displayed the cosplay props from when they first met—Ibaraki Doji's weapon and Watanabe no Tsuna's sword. The wedding banquet played "FGO" background music, and when the gacha pull music started, guests even began chanting, "Roll for gacha!"

And because the groom is also a tokusatsu fan, for their exit, friends formed a special "Ranger squad," complete with the "Avataro Sentai Donbrothers" theme song, allowing him to make a hero's exit!

It's clear this cosplayer couple threw an incredibly fun and unique wedding. By weaving in their shared interests, they not only made themselves happy but also allowed their friends and family to truly feel their passion. While planning such a wedding surely took a lot of brainpower, the unforgettable memories made it all worth it!
