Renowned Japanese toy company TAKARA TOMY, under its long-standing toy series "Pop-Up Pirate" (黒ひげ危機一発), will release its latest product themed after Disney's animated film "Lilo & Stitch" on April 26, 2025: "Stitch! Pop-Up Pirate" (スティッチ!危機一発)! The suggested retail price is 2,970 JPY (tax included).
This "Pop-Up Pirate" game, where players insert swords into a barrel to make the Blackbeard pirate pop out to save companions (or prevent the pirate from being launched), has seen continuous improvements and updates since the release of its first generation in 1975. Not only have there been changes in gameplay and the ability to customize various game rules, but the toy itself has also undergone enhancements, including faster launch speeds, five Blackbeard pirates popping out at once, and collaborations with Disney and other major franchises. There's even a super luxurious pirate ship-shaped variant. It remains, to this day, the best ice-breaking mini-game chosen by many toy enthusiasts.
The "Stitch! Pop-Up Pirate" party game, perfect for friends to play together, is similar to the standard Pop-Up Pirate game, coming with a barrel, plastic swords (24 pieces), and a figure.
