Aoshima Previews 'PLAfig. Godzilla (1999) / Destoroyah' Assembly Model - Prototypes Under Development to Be Revealed at Shizuoka Hobby Show!

Following the first release, "Godzilla (2023)," from Japan's Aoshima Bunka Kyozai Co., Ltd.'s new assembly model series 'PLAfig.', which aims for ultimate sculpting, two new works, "Godzilla (1999)" and "Destoroyah (Perfect Form)", were previewed today as being under development. Prototypes of these products will be exhibited for the first time at the '63rd Shizuoka Hobby Show' held on May 14, 2025.

The 'PLAfig.' series is a new line of assembly models from Aoshima Bunka Kyozai Co., Ltd. that brings together their accumulated assembly model technology, aiming for "ultimate sculptural beauty." Adopting a fixed-pose, non-articulated specification, it fully expresses rich and profound detailed sculpting. Whether it's inorganic designs like robots, which Aoshima has traditionally excelled at, or highly organic, creature-like characters, the 'PLAfig.' series ensures they become the center of attention.

For the previous work, "Godzilla (2023)", renowned sculptor Shuzo Kanimushi, known in the biological model field, was invited to create the prototype. It sculpts the powerful pose of Godzilla after landing in Tokyo and destroying the National Diet Building with its atomic breath, meticulously depicting its substantial body silhouette, rough skin details across its entire body, and fierce facial features.

This announcement features the millennium destroyer from the 'Godzilla' Heisei VS series, "Destoroyah (Perfect Form)", and the protagonist of the first work in the 'Godzilla' Millennium series, "Godzilla (1999)". We can look forward to seeing their powerful sculpts at the Shizuoka Hobby Show!
