From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division, the ultimate Gunpla series that brings together the latest technological marvels, 『PGU（PERFECT GRADE UNLEASHED）』, has today officially announced its latest product from the theatrical anime "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack": the "ν Gundam", scheduled for release in January 2026.
The RX-93 ν Gundam is a custom mobile suit designed with the participation of the Earth Federation Forces' Newtype ace pilot, Amuro Ray. It was deployed to counter Char Aznable during the Second Neo Zeon War in U.C. 0093. This machine returns to a fundamental design philosophy of simplicity, versatility, and durability. It features micro-thrusters installed throughout its body, incorporates "Psyco-Frame" technology, and is equipped with all-range attack "Fin Funnels," significantly enhancing the structural integrity, mobility, and Amuro's Newtype abilities.
Commemorating the 45th anniversary of Gunpla, the second release in the 『PG UNLEASHED』 series is the "ν Gundam". This marks the first time this mobile suit has been released as a 1/60 scale model kit. Continuing the core concept of its predecessor, the RX-78-2 Gundam, the "ULTIMATE UNIT SYSTEM" meticulously recreates the internal structure of the mobile suit with a convincing design, allowing builders to feel the experience of "constructing a mobile suit."
▼ The head is based on the animation line art, reproducing the four sharp head antennae, the dual eye monitors that curve upwards along the helmet's brim, and the Vulcan cannon ports on both sides of the crown. The forehead, top of the head, sides, and collar all feature articulation mechanisms, allowing the outer armor to open up and reveal the internal mechanical structure, simulating a maintenance state.
▼ The shoulder armor not only uses multiple shades of gray parts to express sectional differences but also incorporates a wealth of rotating and sliding mechanisms for significant armor expansion. The square thrusters on the outer side are also articulated.
▼ The chest features a precision mechanism to open the central cockpit block. It also houses multi-axis joints, enabling human-like movements such as bending forward and backward and twisting at the waist.
▼ The arms feature a multi-axis articulation design. The forearm can bend nearly 180 degrees, while the base of the upper arm and the elbow joint have horizontal swivel mechanisms. Additionally, the beam saber rack on the left arm reproduces the deployment and storage gimmick.
▼ The hands are fully articulated with five individual fingers. In addition to allowing for flexible poses via three knuckles per finger, they also replicate the launch ports at the fingertips for the "Dummy MS Balloons." Furthermore, fixed-pose replacement hand parts are included, such as fists, open palms, and weapon-holding hands.
▼ The skirt armor and hip section replicate the internal mechanical details not visible from the outside, along with numerous armor and hatch-opening mechanisms. It also features a locking design; when unlocked, it allows for changing the front-to-back shape of the waist and adjusting the position of the hip joints.
▼ The legs are equipped with intricate sliding armor and articulation mechanisms. Numerous armor-opening gimmicks are present from the thighs down to the feet. When the knee joint is bent, it interlocks with the thigh armor to reveal the inner frame, achieving both a complete look and ensuring a wide range of motion.
In the armaments department, the ν Gundam's signature weapon, the "Fin Funnels," are recreated with precise sculpting, featuring rich details like thruster nozzles, heat dissipation fins, and beam cannon emitters. An articulation mechanism allows them to replicate their stored and firing states after transformation. The connection mechanism for the six funnels is like an enhanced version of the RG's, with three C-clips deploying from the side to link them together. The display base also includes dedicated support parts for the funnels, enhancing stability during display.
▼ The Beam Rifle features a magazine replacement mechanism, a deployable carrying handle, and a sliding foregrip mechanism.
▼ The Beam Saber comes with two types of hilts—a standard type and a curved type—along with beam effect parts.
▼ The Shield replicates the four built-in missiles and the beam cannon.
▼ The New Hyper Bazooka features a telescoping barrel, a rotating grip, and a mechanism for loading/unloading the magazine and warhead. Additionally, it includes a model-original auxiliary connector arm for the New Hyper Bazooka, allowing it to be suspended directly from the backpack for use, with a multi-axis design for flexible angle adjustments.
Furthermore, the "PERFECT GRADE UNLEASHED 1/60 ν Gundam" is designed with a light-up feature for an internal LED unit. Information on the "Dedicated LED Unit," which will be sold separately, is scheduled to be released in June.
