The 'HG (High Grade)' Gunpla series, launched by Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division, known for its comprehensive lineup of mobile suits faithfully recreating their anime appearances, today unveiled prototypes for two new kits from the spin-off game 'Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Urðr Hunt' at the '63rd Shizuoka Hobby Show': 'HG 1/144 Gundam Zagan' and 'HG 1/144 Monkey Rodi (598's Unit) / Monkey Crab Rodi'. Release dates are yet to be determined.
The ASW-G-61 Gundam Zagan was a Gundam Frame mobile suit utilized by Arzuna Isu, the head of the Isu family, one of the original 'Seven Stars' during the 'Calamity War' over three centuries ago. After the war, it was kept under strict management by the Isu family and rarely appeared in public. It wasn't until the current family head, Kaelda, was killed in action that Rond Bronn, a member of her personal guard who inherited her will, revealed Gundam Zagan's hiding place during his search for a successor to the family head.
The UGY-R266C Monkey Rodi (598's Unit) is a mobile suit piloted by '598,' an unnamed low-ranking youth in the game. It is built with a highly rigid Rodi Frame, and its curved armor provides high defense against solid projectiles. It is also equipped with the Alaya-Vijnana System, which significantly enhances its mobility. Later, to leverage 598's expertise in high-mobility combat, the 'Rakoou Pirate Group' modified this unit into the 'Monkey Crab Rodi,' transforming its arms into Z'Gok-like claws.
