Japan's renowned toy brand MEDICOM TOY's soft vinyl figure ASM (ANIMATION SOFVI MUSEUM) series has unveiled a new product based on the popular anime and manga "Kaiju No. 8" – the "Kaiju No. 8" soft vinyl figure. The suggested retail price is 19,800 JPY, with an anticipated release in October 2025!
The story of "Kaiju No. 8" follows Kafka Hibino, who works for a kaiju corpse clean-up company. In the past, he and his childhood friend Mina Ashiro promised to join the Defense Force together to eliminate all kaiju, but for various reasons, he gave up on this dream. By chance, Kafka gains the ability to transform into the powerful "Kaiju No. 8." With the encouragement and assistance of his new colleague Reno Ichikawa, he decides to once again pursue his goal of becoming a Defense Force member and fighting alongside Mina.
This ASM Kaiju No. 8 stands approximately 28 cm tall, with HaRu responsible for the prototype sculpting. It recreates Kafka's transformed kaiju form in a chibi proportion, meticulously restoring the rough skin, robust muscle lines, and exposed spinal bones on his back. The figure is painted to reproduce his in-series colors, with the blue-green cracks making the arm muscle texture appear even more prominent, showcasing the might of the strongest kaiju within its charming soft vinyl form!
