From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company's collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, the "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS" series, which combines metallic paint finishes and alloy frames, is set to release its latest product from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY", the "Legend Gundam". Detailed information is scheduled to be revealed on May 20, 2025.
The ZGMF-X666S Legend Gundam is a mobile suit piloted by Rey Za Burrel, a clone possessing the same genes as Rau Le Creuset. To realize the "Destiny Plan" advocated by his adoptive father, Chairman Gilbert Durandal, it engaged in a decisive battle with Kira Yamato's Strike Freedom Gundam. This mobile suit evolved from the Providence Gundam, piloted by Creuset in the previous great war. It is equipped with a second-generation DRAGOON System on its back, significantly enhancing the pilot's spatial awareness and allowing for wireless control of ten DRAGOON armaments, the "Assault Beam Machine Cannons," to launch all-range attacks.
From the prototype exhibited last year, it can be seen that the "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Legend Gundam" is produced with an articulated specification, standing approximately 14 cm tall. It largely reproduces the refined armor design from the anime settings, while also applying matte gray, red, blue, and other color schemes to convey a substantial feel, and features original, cool model-specific markings.
Most of the movable joints are made of alloy parts, offering both firm joint strength and a weighty feel when handled. The armaments displayed at the time included the handheld "MA-BAR78F High-Energy Beam Rifle," the "MA-M80S Defiant Beam Javelin," and the ten "GDU-X5 Assault Beam Machine Cannons" mounted on its back. These can recreate the powerful "All-Range Attack" pose using transparent stands and thruster effect parts!
