World-renowned Hong Kong toy manufacturer Hot Toys is releasing new themed products to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. In addition to the regular version of "Darth Vader," they will also simultaneously launch the "Darth Vader Deluxe Version" 1/6th scale collectible figure. The suggested retail price is US$495, with an estimated shipping date in Q2-Q3 2026!
In Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, after Anakin Skywalker succumbed to the dark side of the Force, swayed by the insidious words of Darth Sidious, he was defeated in a thrilling duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar, losing both his legs and suffering severe burns from the lava. Palpatine rescued him and performed a horrific reconstructive surgery. However, when he reawakened as Darth Vader, the Padmé he wished to protect had already passed away due to childbirth complications.
This Darth Vader Deluxe Version figure shares some features with the regular version, including a newly sculpted Darth Vader helmeted head and an Anakin Skywalker head sculpt with realistic burn effects. It also faithfully recreates the intricate details of the spacesuit using mixed media materials. Building upon the regular version, this deluxe edition adds a rotating operating table diorama base where Anakin underwent surgery, along with additional interchangeable hands depicting his restraints and two articulated medical droids. The operating table, featuring LED light-up functions, can be positioned upright, and combined with the disassembled Darth Vader mask and articulated mechanical arms, it perfectly recreates the iconic scene of Darth Vader's birth!
