From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.'s collector's toy division TAMASHII NATIONS, the "GUNDAM FIX FIGURATION METAL COMPOSITE" series of alloy and ABS finished products, thoroughly supervised by popular mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME, has announced the latest product from the movie "Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island", the "Char's High Mobility Zaku II", scheduled for release in January 2026.
In the story, Amuro Ray, in a nightmare that flashed after he fell off a cliff and was injured, saw a scene where the Gundam was shot by Char's "MS-06R-1A High Mobility Zaku II". This model is an improved version of the "MS-06-R High Mobility Zaku II". In addition to a new escape device in the cockpit seat, the fuel tanks on the back and legs have been changed to a pod-type, making the resupply process simpler and allowing for resupply in space. Furthermore, the "R6 kit" on both sides of the chest, as per "THE ORIGIN" version's setting, each features a vulcan cannon.
The "G.F.F.M.C. Char's High Mobility Zaku II" is based on modifications from the previously released Black Tri-Stars unit. Its overall design faithfully adheres to the in-story settings and is thoroughly supervised by mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME. It newly reproduces the characteristic red coloration of Char's custom machine and features original body marking decals. The mobile suit incorporates numerous alloy parts for its movable frame, shoulder armor, and other sections, with metallic paint applied to internal structures, thrusters, and various other areas, conveying a realistic and substantial feel.
The model features flexible movable joint designs, and the alloy material provides robust joint strength, allowing it to carry a large array of weapons and stably pose in various cool combat stances. Furthermore, the mobile suit is equipped with intricate mechanisms throughout its body: the head armor can open to adjust the angle of the mono-eye camera, the central chest armor uses rubber material and can open up and down to reveal the cockpit, and the alloy knee joints and popliteal armor feature interlocking mechanisms.
Weapon accessories include a rich array of armaments such as the MS Machine Gun, MS Bazooka Type A2, MS Anti-Ship Rifle ASR-78, and Heat Hawk. The Heat Hawk comes with two parts, one activated and one unactivated. Both the machine gun and bazooka have detachable magazines, and spare magazine parts are included, which can be mounted on the right shoulder armor and left skirt armor, respectively.
