FREEing (株式会社 FREEing), a Japanese toy company known for its "B-Style" series of exquisite 1/4 scale female character figures, has announced its latest product from the anime Higurashi: When They Cry – Gou: the "Rena Ryugu Tragic Bunny Ver." 1/4 Scale Figure. It is priced at 33,000 JPY and is scheduled for release in February 2026.
The protagonist of the anime Higurashi: When They Cry – Gou is Rena Ryugu (竜宮レナ). Her original name was Rina Ryugu (龍宮禮奈). Born in Hinamizawa, she moved to Ibaraki as a child due to her parents' work. Upon returning to Hinamizawa, she began calling herself "Rena (レナ)" to erase unpleasant memories from her past. She is an excellent cook and is skilled with both kitchen knives and her signature cleaver. She enjoys rummaging through the Hinamizawa trash heap and brings home anything she finds cute.
The B-Style "Rena Ryugu Tragic Bunny Ver." 1/4 Scale Figure, at a large size of 41 cm, recreates Rena in a bunny girl outfit... or rather, a "cute" appearance? Unlike previous bunny girl figures, this one makes a re-appearance as an original "Tragic Bunny" version, full of the series' distinctive style. Her face bears a chilling, insane smile, and she holds her iconic cleaver. Blood paint is splattered on her hands, pale chest, black outfit, and the blade, adding a dramatic touch to the overall presentation! Her bare legs, revealed after removing the fishnet stockings, and her voluptuous hips are also new highlights of this figure.
