BANPRESTO, a prize figure brand under Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, has announced the latest product from its 'ART VIGNETTE' series, which combines exquisite monster sculpting with diorama scenes. The new item, "Godzilla (2016) 4th Form Landing Image ver.", based on the movie 'Shin Godzilla', is scheduled for release in July 2026.
Godzilla (2016), which appeared in the movie 'Shin Godzilla', was jointly designed by director Hideaki Anno, designer Mahiro Maeda, and sculptor Takayuki Takeya. It is a colossal "perfect organism" capable of rapid evolution and devolution, quickly adapting to its environment, undergoing several evolutions within hours of landing in Japan. Godzilla possesses a "thermonuclear energy conversion biological organ" within its body, seemingly able to generate immense energy and release radioactive substances without needing to feed. In the film, after being attacked by US military bombers, it entered an awakened state, unleashing a heat ray from its mouth that instantly engulfed Tokyo's bustling streets in flames, completely exceeding the current scope of human knowledge.
The "ART VIGNETTE Godzilla (2016) 4th Form Landing Image ver." is crafted to a size of approximately 11 cm in height and 19 cm in width, bringing to life the scene from the film where Godzilla, having evolved into its 4th form, lands on the coast. Ocean surface diorama parts are used to depict the lower legs submerged in the seawater. The Godzilla body itself features intricate sculpting and color application, recreating its terrifying, emotionless head, alien-like tail tip, and the red glow emanating from its rough skin.
