BANDAI CANDY, the confectionery toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product from its popular 'FW GUNDAM CONVERGE' series: the "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE CORE Psycho Gundam", based on "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam", is scheduled for release in September 2026.
The MRX-009 Psycho Gundam, boasting an astonishing height of approximately 40 meters, is a mobile suit developed by the Earth Federation Forces' Newtype Lab "Muramasa" specifically for Cyber Newtypes. It can transform from a hovering mobile fortress mode into a mobile suit mode optimized for close-quarters combat. Equipped with a large psycommu system, its body is armed with numerous psycommu-controlled Mega Particle Cannons and I-Field Generators, possessing the incredible destructive power to annihilate a city single-handedly. However, the young girl who piloted this machine, Four Murasame, was a "Cyber Newtype" created through inhumane methods such as drug modification and mental conditioning, leading to her tragic and short life.
The "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE CORE Psycho Gundam" is an updated version based on the EX17 release from 2017. It retains the substantial size of approximately 9 cm in height and high-density detailed sculpting. The exterior armor has been changed to a low-saturation gray with a hint of blue-tinted black, mirroring its appearance in the series. The hands, thrusters, and exposed frame parts have also been repainted with a more metallic, bright gunmetal finish.
Furthermore, 10 additional body markings have been printed across the entire body, enriching the details. Accessories also include a shield, a set of transformation parts for MA mode, and dedicated display stands for both MS and MA modes, allowing for the recreation of an even more imposing MA mode by swapping certain parts!
