Bandai's Gashapon division in Japan, under its popular ULTIMATE LUMINOUS capsule toy series which emphasizes ultimate sculpting and ultimate luminescence, is releasing new themed products to commemorate the 55th anniversary of "Kamen Rider" — the "ULTIMATE LUMINOUS Kamen Rider" Gashapon capsule toys. The reference price is 1,000 JPY per capsule, and they are scheduled for release in late August 2026!
First aired in 1971, "Kamen Rider" is a tokusatsu TV series created by Shotaro Ishinomori and produced by Toei. It tells the story of Takeshi Hongo, a brilliant and athletic young scientist who is abducted by the evil organization Shocker and transformed into a cyborg. Just as they were about to perform the final brain modification, Hongo seized the opportunity to escape and rescue his mentor, Dr. Midorikawa. To protect human freedom, he transforms into "Kamen Rider No. 1" and battles Shocker.
This "ULTIMATE LUMINOUS Kamen Rider" series features an impressive size, standing approximately 12-14 cm tall, with intricate sculpting that faithfully recreates the characters' appearances from the show. It includes five types: Old Kamen Rider No. 1, Old Kamen Rider No. 2, and Shocker Combatmen A, B, and C! Old No. 1 and Old No. 2 come with LED light-up mechanisms, allowing for a high-quality display of their glowing compound eyes. The Shocker Combatmen feature rotatable arms, allowing collectors to acquire multiple figures and pose them alongside the two Kamen Riders to recreate dynamic battle scenes!
