BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division recently announced the latest addition to their "FULL MECHANICS" plastic model kit series, known for its high-density details and ease of assembly. Coming from the original anime "AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline," the "FULL MECHANICS 1/48 MAILeS Kenbu" is scheduled for release in January 2022.
"AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline" is the first original anime from SUNRISE BEYOND, a studio that has contributed to "Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE" and "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Urthr Hunt." The story is set in 2061 AD, where Japan has been divided and controlled by the world's four major economic blocs. Its people are treated as slaves of a subordinate nation, and the country itself has become a frontline battlefield for various factions deploying humanoid special mobile weapons called "AMAIM." The protagonist, "Amou Shiiba," is a 16-year-old boy who loves machines and collects parts. One day, his encounter with an autonomous AI named "Gai" sparks a turning point. Amou will pilot his self-built AMAIM, the "Kenbu," to fight for the reclamation of Japan.
The "FULL MECHANICS MAILeS Kenbu" is crafted in 1/48 scale, featuring a more complete internal frame and cockpit compared to its HG counterpart. Metallic 3D stickers are included to replicate the limb sensor colors. The model also incorporates a rear skirt lift mechanism and comes with an Amou Shiiba figure, allowing collectors to recreate dynamic boarding scenes. Furthermore, interchangeable parts enable the display of its "unfinished state" appearance.
For armaments, the kit includes a Super Vibrating Straight Sword that can be mounted on its back, along with a highly detailed 60mm Portable Machine Gun. Its forearms can be optionally equipped with either a Shielded Short Sword or a Super Vibrating Battle Claw, allowing for dynamic combat poses from the series. Additionally, first-run production versions will include a limited-edition "clear armor" bonus, showcasing the internal structure of the unit.
