The Guardian of Light returns! Renowned Japanese toy brand Kaiyodo is adding a new entry to its acclaimed "Character Classics" series, which has previously featured several iconic characters from the classic "Ultraman" tokusatsu series. This time, the highly popular Ultraman Tiga (ウルトラマンティガ) will join the lineup as a new three-dimensional figure, slated for release on December 25, 2021!
First aired in 1996 and co-produced by Tsuburaya Productions and Mainichi Broadcasting, "Ultraman Tiga" is widely credited with revitalizing the Ultraman franchise, forming the "Heisei Ultra Trilogy" alongside its successors, "Ultraman Dyna" and "Ultraman Gaia." The story begins when a meteorite crashes to Earth, unleashing two monsters, Golza and Melba. Their target: the "Land of Tiga," where statues of the long-slumbering "Giants of Light" reside. In a moment of crisis during the attack, GUTS team member Daigo Madoka transforms into light, merges with one of the statues, and awakens as Ultraman Tiga to battle the monsters.
Standing approximately 34.5 cm tall, this Character Classics Ultraman Tiga figure from Kaiyodo is sculpted by the master of realistic style, Takashi Kinoshita. Kinoshita-sensei meticulously recreates Tiga's original design, capturing every detail from the perfectly symmetrical head and the intricate wrinkles of his suit, to the subtle seams of the costume on his back, and the form-fitting precision of his gloves and boots. The precise angles of his elbows and the clenched fists convey a powerful sense of dynamic energy. Naturally, both his eyes and the Color Timer on his chest are equipped with embedded LED lights, enhancing the figure's premium feel when illuminated. Paired with its dedicated display base, this large-scale figure boasts a breathtaking sense of realism and presence that is truly awe-inspiring.
