Hong Kong toy brand threezero, known for its "threezeroX" series which features famous sculptors reinterpreting character styles, has announced its latest product: the "threezeroX Akinori Takagi Ultraman Zero" action figure. Following the release of the Ultraman Belial figure, this new collectible is slated for release between July and September 2022.
The son of Ultraseven, Ultraman Zero possesses exceptional warrior qualities, earning him the title of the strongest young fighter in the Land of Light and the sworn rival of Ultraman Belial. His personality is free-spirited and somewhat rough, yet inherently kind. Overconfident in his abilities, Zero once sought greater power by approaching the core of the Plasma Spark Tower, an act that broke a sacred taboo. He was subsequently "exiled" from the Land of Light, though in reality, his father took him to the frontier planet K76, where he was rigorously trained by the Ultraman Leo and Astra brothers, honing his mind, body, and spirit. When Belial escaped imprisonment and plunged the galaxy into crisis, a matured Zero returned to the Land of Light as a true warrior, utilizing his hard-earned powerful combat techniques to successfully repel Belial.
The "threezeroX Akinori Takagi Ultraman Zero" stands approximately 34.6cm tall and boasts over 52 points of articulation. Japanese sculptor Akinori Takagi has reinterpreted the character's design, focusing on the upper body to sculpt more organic, muscular lines. The face sculpt is also more elongated and sharp. Light-up features are integrated into the forehead, eyes, and the Chest Color Timer, which can switch between blue and red lights.
For weaponry, the figure's pair of head darts (Zero Sluggers) are detachable and can be attached to the chest via magnets to recreate the powerful "Zero Twin Shoot" beam attack. Also included are the Zero Twin Sword, Zero Lance, a fabric cape, and multiple interchangeable hands, allowing collectors to pose Akinori Takagi's Ultraman Zero in various dynamic battle stances!
