Relive classic 1960s sci-fi! Veteran Japanese model kit manufacturer Aoshima Bunka Kyozai Co., Ltd. (Aoshima) previously released assembly model kits from the iconic sci-fi puppet series "Thunderbirds" (サンダーバード). They were slated to release a 1/350 scale assembly model kit of "Thunderbird 3" and its "Launch Base" in January 2022!
"Thunderbirds" is a sci-fi puppet animation series produced by Gerry Anderson's AP Films, which first aired on ATV in the UK in 1965. The entire show utilized puppets as its "actors," controlled by thin wires to simulate lifelike movement. The story follows the Tracy family, who form the secret organization International Rescue, discreetly deploying their advanced vehicles to save lives from various disasters.
This Aoshima model kit faithfully recreates Thunderbird 3 and its launch base in 1/350 scale. Beyond the iconic red rocket design, the kit also includes the working radio signal vehicle, allowing collectors to vividly recreate classic launch scenes.
