From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company HOBBY Division, the 1/144 scale Gunpla 'HG (High Grade)' series, known for its most diverse range of mobile suits, has announced that the 'RGM-79 GM (Sleggar's Custom)', piloted by Lieutenant Sleggar Law from the theatrical anime film 'Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island', has been confirmed for commercialization and is expected to be available soon on the official online store PREMIUM BANDAI.
The RGM-79 GM is a mass-produced mobile suit developed from the actual combat data of the RX-78-02 Gundam. It focuses on simplifying its structure and reducing manufacturing costs to improve productivity. While its performance is inferior to the Gundam, its advantages lie in rapid and mass production, relatively easy operation, and high versatility, allowing for modifications based on pilot or mission requirements. The Sleggar's machine appearing in 'Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island' features a gray-toned paint scheme and distinctive fuselage markings, and it sorties alongside Sayla's Core Booster to search for the missing Amuro.
Currently, only partial official images of the 'HG 1/144 RGM-79 GM (Sleggar's Custom)' have been released. Full product details are expected to be unveiled on August 31st.
