GUNDAM SIDE-F, the Mobile Suit Gundam themed facility in Fukuoka, Japan, which features the popular life-sized ν Gundam statue, recently announced the latest limited-edition product related to "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack": "HG 1/144 Jegan (Yu Kajima Custom)", scheduled to go on sale starting October 08, 2022.
Yu Kajima, the Federation Forces ace pilot known as "The Blue Reaper", is the protagonist of "Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: The Blue Destiny", serving as the test pilot for the experimental "Blue Destiny" series mobile suits. He possesses astonishing mobile suit piloting skills, but due to being embroiled in a series of disturbances caused by the EXAM Project, his achievements, along with the project itself, were erased by the Federation Forces. However, one of the game's endings depicts Yu Kajima piloting a Jegan during the Second Neo Zeon War, as one of the many Federation soldiers assisting Amuro's ν Gundam in pushing Axis, and subsequently retiring after the war.
The "HG 1/144 Jegan (Yu Kajima Custom)" kit largely reuses the molds from the previously released general version, with the chest armor molded in the distinctive blue color representing Yu Kajima's custom unit. It also includes original Earth Federation Forces decal stickers. The rest of the specifications are identical to the general release, including armaments such as a beam saber, beam rifle, and shield. The head visor is reproduced with clear parts, the shoulders feature flexible forward and backward articulation, the elbow joints are made of high-strength ABS material, and the side skirts reproduce the storage mechanism for the beam saber hilt and the opening mechanism for the grenade rack.
