Released by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, the 1/144 scale Gunpla 'HG (High Grade)' series, known for its diverse range of mobile suits, has once again announced the latest product from 《Mobile Suit Gundam SEED》, the 「HG 1/144 Strike Dagger」, slated for release in December 2022, following the Dagger L.
After collecting combat data from the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam, the Earth Alliance Forces began developing their first formal mass-production mobile suit, the 「105 Dagger」. While its performance was lower than the Strike Gundam, it could be mass-produced quickly and also featured the Striker Pack system for mission-specific equipment changes. However, as the conflict with the Z.A.F.T. forces rapidly escalated, the demand for a primary mass-production unit became more urgent, necessitating further design modifications that omitted more of the Strike Gundam's features. This ultimately led to the birth of the 「GAT-01 Strike Dagger」, which discarded the Striker Pack system and featured significantly downgraded weaponry and armor.
The 「HG 1/144 Strike Dagger」 is based on the previously released HG 1/144 Dagger L, utilizing numerous new parts to recreate the Strike Dagger's distinctive head, chest, shoulder armor, skirt armor, and various weapon designs. The head camera visor is made with clear parts, allowing the intricately sculpted mechanical details inside to be seen.
The movable joints also inherit the Dagger L's design, with flexible articulation in the neck, waist, and limbs. It can be posed with the included beam rifle, beam saber, anti-beam shield, and parachute pack, among other armaments, allowing for dynamic and cool combat poses.
