BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has announced that the latest product from the popular mechanical designer Katoki Hajime-supervised alloy and ABS finished product series, 'GUNDAM FIX FIGURATION METAL COMPOSITE', will be the "RGM-79 GM (Sleggar's Machine)" from the movie "Mobile Suit Gundam Cucuruz Doan's Island", scheduled for release in June 2023.
The RGM-79 GM is a mass-produced mobile suit developed from the actual combat data of the RX-78-02 Gundam. It emphasizes simplified machine structure and reduced construction costs to improve productivity. While its performance is inferior to the Gundam, its advantages lie in rapid and mass production, relatively easy operation, and high versatility, allowing for modifications based on the pilot or mission requirements. In "Mobile Suit Gundam Cucuruz Doan's Island", Sleggar's machine features a gray-toned paint scheme and distinctive body markings. It sorties with Sayla's Core Booster to search for the missing Amuro.
The "G.F.F.M.C. GM (Sleggar's Machine)" is thoroughly supervised by mechanical designer Katoki Hajime, faithfully recreating its appearance from the anime. The entire machine is coated with saturated and vivid colors, and the sophisticated armor design is adorned with rich body markings, significantly enhancing the density of details. Key joints of the movable frame are made of alloy, providing high strength and a substantial feel during play, allowing for the reproduction of cool poses such as riding the Core Booster or firing weapons.
In terms of weaponry, in addition to the Beam Rifle used in the film, it also includes a Beam Saber, Shield, a Beam Spray Gun with a different design from the TV version, and back and waist missile launchers equipped by other GMs in the show, allowing for a wider variety of armed poses.
Furthermore, the product also includes additional parts that can be linked with the separately sold Gundam [Doan's Island] and Doan's Zaku [Doan's Island]. These include a Heat Hawk, a damaged Gundam shield, and three stone parts, allowing for the recreation of Doan Zaku's stone-throwing attack and the scene where the Gundam's shield is severed by Doan Zaku!
