BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.'s collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has officially announced today the long-awaited latest product from the popular mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME's thoroughly supervised alloy and ABS finished product series, 'GUNDAM FIX FIGURATION METAL COMPOSITE': 'Gundam Deathscythe Hell (EW Ver.)' from 'Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz', scheduled for release in July 2023.
Appearing in the OVA 'Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz', the XXXG-01D2 Gundam Deathscythe Hell (EW Ver.) is a mobile suit redesigned by mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME based on its TV version appearance. Although it is the same mobile suit, the EW version features numerous changes in both its exterior and weaponry. In the story, this unit is a secretly improved and enhanced model, developed by Gundam engineers after recovering the heavily damaged Deathscythe Gundam. In addition to enhancing its spatial maneuverability for space combat, it also features special 'Active Cloak' armor on its back, resembling bat wings, to bolster its defense and stealth capabilities. Like its predecessor, it can evade radar tracking using its high-performance jammer and launch attacks with its 'Beam Scythe'.
The 'G.F.F.M.C. Gundam Deathscythe Hell (EW Ver.)' once again features a reinterpreted design by KATOKI HAJIME, based on the anime's settings. It utilizes an alloy movable frame, with its armor finished in rich color coating and body markings, presenting the Deathscythe Hell's dark and striking appearance. The 'Active Cloak' on its back is designed with an all-new deployment mechanism, using a multi-stage sliding method to reveal the internal movable frame. This allows it to expand into Deathscythe wings even larger than the original design, or completely envelop the mobile suit to form a defensive posture.
Furthermore, KATOKI HAJIME has extended the design concept of G.F.F.M.C. Wing Gundam Zero (EW), adding an armor deployment mechanism reminiscent of ZERO Mode and an original flight form for this Gundam Deathscythe Hell (EW). Multiple armor sections, including the chest center, shoulder armor, skirt armor, and legs, can be deployed. By positioning the unit prone and attaching the Buster Shield and weapons to its head, the flight form 'Raven' can be recreated.
The weapon mechanisms have also undergone significant modifications, introducing the G.F.F.M.C. original scythe weapon, 'Adler'. In addition to the familiar twin-bladed scythe mode, it can transform into a double-headed scythe and a dual-wield scythe mode. Furthermore, it includes the 'Single-Bladed Beam Scythe' used in the anime and the 'Twin-Bladed Beam Scythe' from the manga 'Glory of the Losers'. Both scythes can not only transform individually but also combine to form a large scythe with three deployed beam blades.
The 'Hell Buster Shield' mounted on the right arm incorporates the ornate carving design from the TV version, featuring a claw deployment mechanism and the ability to attach beam blade effects. Additionally, the 'Wasp Equipment' extra armament, which appeared in the manga 'Glory of the Losers', is also included with this product. It can normally be mounted on the side skirt armor, and by deploying its claws and attaching beam blade effects, its firing state can be recreated.
