Japanese model maker PLEX's "Jumbo Soft Vinyl Figure" series today announced its latest product from "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam", the "Jumbo Soft Vinyl Figure SD Gundam Mk-II -SD Gundam-", scheduled for release in February 2024.
In Universal Century 0087, the "Titans", an Earth-supremacist radical elite unit of the Federal Forces, sought to assert their authority as more legitimate than the pro-space faction "AEUG". They excluded technicians with Zeon backgrounds and selected protagonist Kamille's father, Franklin Bidan, to lead the development. This resulted in the successor to the iconic mobile suit "RX-78 Gundam" series, which turned the tide of the One Year War: the "RX-178 Gundam Mk-II". It possesses an extremely similar external design, but the entire unit is constructed using the latest contemporary technology. Among its innovations, the implementation of a "movable frame" significantly increased its mobility, expandability, and ease of maintenance.
The "Jumbo Soft Vinyl Figure SD Gundam Mk-II -SD Gundam-" expresses the short-statured SD design with an impressive height of approximately 23 cm, and features the white, black, and red color scheme after the unit was seized by the AEUG. The product utilizes 3D digital modeling design, and in addition to rich armor surface details, it also ensures rotational articulation in the neck, shoulders, hands, and waist joints. Furthermore, accessories include an acrylic stand printed with the unit's name, as well as armaments such as a beam rifle, beam saber, and shield, which can be equipped in both hands for display!
