Sentinel "RIOBOT Shin Getter 1 Renewal Ver. Alloy Action Figure" Finally Released After Years of Waiting, Featuring Full Body Paint & Joint Improvements!

Japanese model manufacturer Sentinel's popular alloy action figure series "RIOBOT" today announced the latest product from "Getter Robo Armageddon", "Shin Getter 1 Renewal Ver.", scheduled for release in April 2024.

This product is Sentinel's re-release of the "RIOBOT Shin Getter 1" from 2018, improved to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the OVA anime "Getter Robo Armageddon". It has been thoroughly supervised by the rights holder Dynamic Planning and reinterpreted by renowned designer Yoichi Sakamoto. Compared to the old version, it brings four major improvements: "addition of newly designed weapon: Super Large Getter Tomahawk", "improved articulation of the back wing base", "red armor changed from plastic molded color to painted finish", and "improved chest joint mechanism".

The "RIOBOT Shin Getter 1 Renewal Ver." is an impressive alloy action figure, standing approximately 22.5 cm tall, crafted from multiple materials including ABS, PVC, PA, POM, and alloy parts. Its overall design continues the anime's aesthetic while imparting a richer mechanical texture, featuring intricate armor segmentation and green transparent armor that reveals internal structures. The previously criticized unpainted red molded armor parts from the old version have now been given a more substantial red paint finish. The chest and waist ball joints, which were also criticized for being prone to loosening, now feature a bolt-fixed design to enhance strength. The wing bases have new ball joints that can replace the original two-axis joints, providing a more flexible range of motion and reducing interference with the shoulders' articulation.

In addition to the original Getter Tomahawk and the Getter Beam emitter on the abdomen, the weapon accessories now include a newly designed original weapon, the "Super Large Getter Tomahawk". Measuring 45 cm in total length and 16 cm in axe head width, its impressive size is matched by its transformation and separation mechanisms. The two axe blades can unfold upwards to transform into a spear, or the blades can be detached to separate into two cleavers. The massive axe blades can even replace the original wings and be mounted on the back, forming an original model-exclusive configuration!
