Sentinel's RIOBOT Shin Getter 1 Prototype Color Ver. Alloy Action Figure: Improved Grey-White Edition Launches as Limited Release!

Japanese model manufacturer Sentinel's popular alloy action figure series 'RIOBOT' today announced the latest product from 'Getter Robo Armageddon', the 'Shin Getter 1 Prototype Color Ver.', slated for release in June 2024. This product will be exclusively sold through Sentinel's official designated channels, such as the SENTINEL Store.

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the OVA anime 'Getter Robo Armageddon', Sentinel is re-releasing the 'RIOBOT Shin Getter 1', originally launched in 2018, with significant improvements. Fully supervised by the rights holder Dynamic Planning and re-interpreted by renowned designer Yoichi Sakamoto, this version boasts four major enhancements compared to the old one: 'addition of a newly designed weapon: the Super Large Getter Tomahawk', 'improved articulation at the base of the back wings', 'armor changed from plastic molded color to painted finish', and 'improved chest joint mechanism'.

The 'RIOBOT Shin Getter 1 Prototype Color Ver.' is an impressive alloy action figure, standing approximately 22.5 cm tall, crafted from a variety of materials including ABS, PVC, PA, POM, and die-cast parts. In contrast to the generally available 'Shin Getter 1 Renewal Ver.', this version features an original glossy white paint finish for all exterior armor. The previously translucent green armor, which revealed internal mechanisms, has been replaced with colorless transparent parts. This combination of pure glossy white and metallic colors effectively conveys the prototype machine's unpainted, factory-fresh appearance.

Other aspects remain consistent with the Renewal Ver., addressing the old version's notorious loose chest and waist ball joints by implementing a bolt-fixed design for enhanced strength. The base of the wings now features new ball joint parts that can replace the original two-axis joints, offering a more flexible range of motion and reducing interference with shoulder articulation.

In addition to the original Getter Tomahawk and the Getter Beam emitter on the abdomen, a newly designed original weapon, the 'Super Large Getter Tomahawk', has been added. Measuring an impressive 45 cm in length with an axe head width of 16 cm, its sheer size is formidable. It also features transformation and separation mechanisms: the two axe blades can unfold upwards to transform into a spear, or be detached to separate into two cleavers. The massive axe blades can even replace the original wings and be mounted on the back, forming an original model-exclusive configuration!
