The popular die-cast toy series 'METAL BUILD', released by BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Toy Division TAMASHII NATIONS in Japan, recently announced that the latest product from 'Mobile Suit Gundam 00', 'GN ARMS TYPE-D', will have its latest prototype displayed at the 'TAMASHII NATION 2023' annual Tamashii Nations brand exhibition held on November 17th.
GN ARMS are large support machines developed by the private armed organization Celestial Being specifically for Gundams. In the series, two specifications appeared: TYPE-E, used by Exia Gundam, and TYPE-D, used by Dynames Gundam. Normally, they can be attached to the exterior of Celestial Being's transport ship 'Ptolemaios' as armament or used independently as space fighters. However, when combined with a Gundam, they can unleash their maximum combat power, not only significantly enhancing the Gundam's maneuverability in space with large thrusters but also equipped with powerful armaments such as GN Field and GN Mega Cannon. Depending on the supported Gundam unit, TYPE-E is equipped with a large GN Sword, while TYPE-D is equipped with a twin-barrel large GN Rifle and GN Missile Pods.
'METAL BUILD GN ARMS TYPE-D' is, of course, a modification of the 'METAL BUILD GN ARMS TYPE-E', which was just released this year. The main body design and versatile original play features should not differ much. The key lies in the newly produced armaments mounted on both arms: the 'twin-barrel large GN Rifle' and 'GN Missile Pods'. From the silhouette alone, it's clear that the powerful design and size differ from the original anime setting. We look forward to it incorporating more original mechanisms, similar to TYPE-E, to enrich the play experience.
